Cruciform columns are engineered for the required axial force, biaxial bending and connection arrangement. Shop fabrication can include four-way beam seats, continuity plates, diaphragms, base plates, cap plates and CNC holes, reducing complex site fit-up.

Item | Project Options |
Section | Cruciform Steel Columns or project-specific geometry |
Material | Carbon or structural steel to approved drawings |
Steel Grade | Q235/Q355, ASTM A36/A572, EN S235/S355 or equivalent |
Dimensions | Height, width, thickness and length as engineered |
Connections | Base plates, cap plates, splice plates, stiffeners and CNC holes |
Welding | Qualified WPS using SAW, GMAW/MAG or specified process |
Finish | Blast cleaning, primer, paint or specified protective system |
Inspection | Material, dimensions, welds, coating and documentation |
• Stiffness arranged around two principal axes
• Four-way framing interfaces can be integrated
• Custom cross-arm dimensions and plate thickness
• Continuity plates strengthen beam-column joints
• Accurate base and cap assemblies
Four-way steel frames, high-rise cores, industrial process structures, architectural columns, transfer zones, atriums and heavy equipment buildings.
We fabricate from customer drawings or approved shop drawings. Customization can include section dimensions, plate thickness, steel grade, length, base and cap assemblies, splice locations, stiffener layout, holes, weld category, tolerances, coating system, lifting points and shipping splits. The technical review checks manufacturability, erection sequence and transport limits before release.
1. Review drawings, standards, loads, tolerances and inspection requirements.
2. Verify steel certificates and maintain piece or heat-number traceability where required.
3. CNC cut plates, tubes, chords, lacing members and connection parts.
4. Assemble against controlled datums and fixtures.
5. Complete qualified welds in a planned sequence to control distortion.
6. Install plates, stiffeners, diaphragms, lacing or branch details.
7. Straighten and inspect geometry, interfaces, welds and holes.
8. Blast, coat, mark, document and pack by erection sequence.
Can these steel columns be made to non-standard dimensions?
Yes. Section geometry, plate thickness, length and connection details are fabricated to approved project drawings within production and transport limits.
Can base plates and connection holes be completed in the factory?
Yes. Base assemblies, cap plates, splice plates, stiffeners and CNC holes can be integrated into the column package.
What information is needed for quotation?
